 In 2024, I made one of the scariest and most rewarding decisions of my life. It happened almost spontaneously – with the encouragement of a dear friend, I decided to dive headfirst into opening a craft business. I had no clear roadmap for funding or financing, but something inside me said "just go for it." Before I could second-guess myself, boom! We were filling out paperwork for our Business Tax ID and officially registering Paisley Decor It LLC. It was terrifying and exhilarating all at once. Sophie and I took every penny we had worked for and poured it into this wild, beautiful vision. No investors knocking down our door, no bank loans to fall back on – just raw determination and an unshakeable belief that handcrafted, affordable luxury deserved a place in people's homes and hearts. Looking back, that spontaneous leap was exactly what needed to happen. 🎯 Let me be real with you – entrepreneurship isn't always Instagram-worthy moments. There are 3 AM inventory counts, failed marketing campaigns, and days when you question everything. As someone who's dyslexic, I've had to find creative ways to manage the business side while staying true to the creative side. But I haven't been doing this alone. Sophie has been absolutely incredible throughout this journey – stepping in to help with finances and supporting me in any way she can. Having someone who believes in your vision and is willing to roll up their sleeves when things get tough? That's been invaluable. Her contributions have allowed me to focus on what I do best while knowing the business foundation is solid. Here's what I've learned: every challenge has taught me something. Every "no" has led me closer to the right "yes." Every late night has been an investment in building something meaningful. 🏡 Today, Paisley Decor It LLC operates across multiple locations in Northern Virginia, with booths at Painted Tree Boutique and a growing online presence. Sophie and I have expanded from our initial partnership to a small but mighty team. Our next exciting milestone? Working toward American Craft Council membership – a goal that represents how far we've come and our dedication to being part of something bigger in the craft community. Our slogan, "Personalized Beauty, Affordable Luxury," isn't just marketing – it's our promise.
